What does 🫠 mean?
The melting face shows a smile that is literally falling apart. People use it when something is awkward but they are pretending to be okay, when it is unbearably hot, or when a situation is slowly getting out of hand. Unlike 😅 (nervous relief) or 😵💫 (dizzy), 🫠 has a resigned, quietly dissolving mood — the “this is fine” dog in emoji form.
In replies it reads as “I’m dying of embarrassment” or “I give up.” It is also widely used for heatwave posts and for cute, self-deprecating captions, and became one of the fastest-adopted new emojis after its release in Emoji 14.
